These photos document the demolition of the DuPare Theatre in Spring of 2007. The people of the Village of Lombard voted in new members to the Board of Trustees, who were dedicated to saving this historic theatre. However, the demolition restraining order ran out just days before the new trustees were to take office. The four trustees who voted to demolish the theatre (one whoes occupation is in the demolition industry) had the the bulldozers ready and waiting to tear down the grande olde lady. The site currently stands empty, with no plan for development. The architectural features and bricks were sold to salvage companies.
